Off-Dock Depot Operations –
A Core Strength

Reliable Container Management at the World’s Busiest Port, Shanghai

De Well operates some of the most advanced container depots in the industry—equipped with high-security systems and real-time yard management tools. This gives shipping lines full control over container location, condition, and movement.

Container Management in Shanghai

We operate four off-dock depots near Shanghai’s major ports, Wai Gao Qiao and Yangshan. All sites are located within 4 kilometers of the terminals, providing immediate access and minimizing congestion and transport time.

Cost Savings for Shippers

Shippers save around $100 USD per container by using De Well’s off-dock terminals instead of hauling equipment 53 kilometers to Yangshan. Carriers and leasing companies reposition containers to our depots, where shippers can pick up and return equipment—streamlining container flow and reducing costs. We also handle container maintenance, repositioning drayage, and fleet management services.

Large-Scale Capabilities

De Well’s Shanghai depots span over 1.2 million square feet and process more than 1 million TEUs per year, making us one of the most efficient container depot operators in the region.
